Hello there, my name is Jackson Mishalani or Jax for short! I am a trans artist my pronouns are he/him or they/them. I am an across mediums artist, I work with illustration, graphic design, painting and integrating writing with illustrations. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts at Cornish College of the Arts where my BFA Capstone project was centered around the interaction of illustration and text through Ergodic Literature.
My inspiration for storytelling came from loving to read since childhood, and that grew into a love for storytelling in many forms as I got older. Writing short comics, playing Dungeons & Dragons and more reading. My goal is to create things where all people feel seen and represented - people deserve to see themselves in art and feel liberated by it. The nickname "Grimm" came from the fantasticalness and darkness that the Grimm's Brother's Fairytales contained - it stuck, and since then, became my tag & social media handles.
Fun facts about myself, I am an avid crocheter and love to sew quilts. My favorite animals are cats and crows, and can most of the time be found on the couch.
Thank you for taking the time to read! If you're interested in my resume, please use the contact page and put "Inquiry" in the title line, and I'll get right back to you via email!
